Currently only black is available. Light grey can be had upon request.

Yes. The MagazineNest is configurable for left or right handed shooters. If you have a right handed unit and want to make it left handed, simply remove the black screw that holds the bucket and nest together, rotate the insert 180 degrees and re-install the screw to the opposite side of the bucket.

Yes. As of a rule change early in March of 2020 MagazineNest carriers are legal in divisions beyond Open.

I believe the MagazineNest is not prohibited by the 2022 IDPA rulebook. The 2022 rulebook actually has fewer tests for magazine carrier legality than before. Gone are all the finite measurements and technical descriptions. According to 8.6.2.1 Must be suitable for concealed carry and all-day continuous wear. The MagazineNest certainly fits that description.

The rule that introduces the word magnet into the rulebook is: 8.6.1.3 Magnets worn on belts or in concealment garments may not substitute traditional carriers. The MagazineNest is like a traditional carrier enhanced with magnets. 8.6.1.3 definitely prohibits the exposed magnet type of carriers popular in USPSA where there’s a magnet attached to a belt and that’s all there is to carry the magazine.

My take on the change is, they scrapped all the detailed geometry measurements such as the 10 degrees of maximum cant that no match official has ever actually checked or is even equipped to measure in the field. I would say that the 2022 rulebook is a good thing for MagazineNest.

There is one bit of ambiguity: 8.6.1.4 Spare ammunition is considered stowed when it is secured in an approved carrier, or a pocket. After the start signal, magazines optionally may be stowed inside the belt. Spare or partial devices are not considered stowed in a shooters hand, armpit, mouth or similar scheme. Since there’s no table of things approved or method by which to seek approval or listed party responsible for said approval the only reasonable interpretation is that “approved” means; that which is not otherwise prohibited elsewhere in the book.

Yes. New nests with different shapes will be available for more magazines. If you already have the MagazineNest modular platform you will be able to buy the new nest adapters for yours.

MagazineNests are manufactured using a 3D printing technology called fused deposition modeling.

Soap and water or purpose specific plastic cleaning products. MagazineNests will probably hold up against many harsh chemicals, but may look like they were rode hard and put away wet.
